The April showers we know so well are here. But as someone who likes to be as hands-free as possible for maximum mobility while walking, I almost never use an umbrella. That’s why I take my rain wear pretty seriously, especially on my feet.
My typical rainy day outfit if I’m out running errands consists of a hooded jacket, a ball cap, my yellow Hunter Wellington boots, and shorts (because I’d rather have wet legs I can wipe-dry, than wet pants that cling to my legs).
But on days when rainfall is a little more unpredictable, I want a more versatile option for being rain-ready in any outfit, whether I’m on my way to work or dinner.
These Sam Edelman Tinsley rubber rain boots are the perfect answer. They’ve got a classic Chelsea boot silhouette with an almond toe and narrow fit. They’re honestly the slimmest looking rain boots I’ve ever come across. But even with their slim design, they still have adequate room in the back heel for my custom orthotics.
The pull-on back loops make it easy for slipping on when I’m in a rush to get out the door. And the gold hardware on the back with Sam Edelman’s logo add a classy touch.
They’re clearly the kind of boots you could wear with pretty much any outfit, even dresses. They add an edgy yet practical feel to fun florals and more delicate spring pieces, especially paired with a leather jacket.
I love this floral dress from Zumel & Co, an awesome Queen Street boutique I discovered after moving back to Toronto last year. It’s got a slight structured cut with a relaxed fit, making it an easy, wear-and-go piece. Sometimes I also like to wear it with a ribbon choker.
