Now that I no longer live downtown, I’ve been doing a lot more couch crashing instead of commuting home to the suburbs after long nights at work or evening events.
What helps is planning ahead and knowing when I’ll need my toiletries and a change of clothes. That’s why I decided it was time to add some style to my overnight / weekend bag.
My criteria for a weekend bag was pretty specific but I knew it was out there:
- Made of leather and canvas
- Old-school framed opening
- Rugged, heavy-duty design
- Investment quality (could be passed down to my children)
That’s how I landed on this exceptional carpenter bag by Wood & Faulk. When I found the bag on the website for Te Koop, an awesome bag store on Queen West in Toronto, it was exactly what I was looking for.
I went into the store the next day and it happened to be on sale, from $240 down to $167.99. I definitely would have held off at the original price tag, but $167 for an investment piece that’s unlike anything in my closet was well worth it.
This handsome menswear bag looks great with a pair of classic boyfriend jeans, some heels (or any footwear of choice, really), and aviators for a casual, weekend-chic look. These are my first pair of boyfriend jeans and I got them from the only one place I trust for my perfect fit and feel: American Eagle.
I love that these “Tomgirl Jeans” sit low, have just the right amount of “roominess” for a boyfriend jean, and have a stretchy cotton blend — so while they look gritty and mean and destroyed, they’re actually very soft and comfortable!
Tip: These Tomgirl Jeans are currently part of American Eagle’s “Buy One Get One 50% Off” promotion for jeans, sweaters, and fleece.
How do you like to style your menswear-inspired looks?
Have a great weekend!
