To me, fall always means fresh starts, and I love that feeling of new beginnings. I even opened a fresh tube of liquid lipstick for this look (details above)!
That’s why it’s fitting that I’m marking the fall season with a new top, new heels, and a new photographer. Let’s start with the outfit!
I got this beautiful Crêpe de Chine wrap-like top from Le Château during a summer haul, meaning it was on sale!
I’m a sucker for wrap-like blouses and dresses — to the point where I really have to stop myself when I walk into a store, spot them, and feel their gravitational pull. But I had to have this one. It’s delicate and feminine, yet so comfortable to wear. And I definitely don’t have enough of this periwinkle / dusty blue shade in my closet, so this top is definitely a feature item.
Let’s talk shoes, shall we? These open-toe booties from Aldo are actually considered a summer boot, which is why I managed to grab them at 30% off earlier this month.
They’re going to be my go-to early fall boots because they’ve got that chunky heel that makes ’em totally walkable for all-day wear. And they have the cute peep toe / heel situation for some foot sexiness.
Plus, they go especially nicely with leggings for a streamlined, slender look. Which is awesome, because once fall hits, I’m often living in these coated leggings.
It was so lovely to shoot with my new photographer friend Yoni. We met briefly at Fan Expo Canada last month when I debuted my Wonder Woman cosplay. Yoni and I had a fun connection and I was pleasantly surprised when he reached out after the convention and asked to collaborate with me. Not only do Yoni and I have similar approaches to style photography, but we also have similar work ethics. He really did his homework before shooting with me.
He knew I was hesitant to work with another photographer — since I take my own photos with the help of my mom or Natalie (The Girl With Bangs) — worried that an inconsistency in styles would disrupt the aesthetic I’ve set for my blog photos. But Yoni took the time to go through my photos and find out exactly what I like. His goal was to be an extension of me behind the camera, and boy, that is such a luxury!
With Yoni behind the camera, I got to pull off shots that I’ve always dreamed of. Like this very natural walking shot that shows off the silhouette of my coated leggings from Dynamite, with the heeled booties from Aldo.
I’m looking forward to shooting more with Yoni!
Thanks for stopping by, my friends! Hope you’re looking forward to the fall season 🍂
