This has got to be my favourite look so far since starting this blog. There are so many elements to this outfit that I really enjoy wearing.
I picked up both the blush kimono and the grey joggers earlier this spring while I was on a mission to find new work pants. I’m a fan of both of these soft fabrics because they feel luxurious yet comfortable and versatile. I like wearing these pants for work — I call them my “office joggers” — for that relaxed-professional look. The kimono is a beautiful, drapey piece that can easily be taken from a work day to a summer date night. There’s something about this shade of blush pink and the delicate fabric (officially dubbed as “Darling” by Talula) that makes me feel light, airy, and romantic.
What really elevates the outfit is this gorgeous teardrop crystal necklace from Ted Baker. I bought this necklace as a birthday gift to myself in February, and just as I had intended, it has already become my go-to accessory to add instant class. I love the rose gold finish and clear crystals — such a simple, classic design that makes a striking impression.
Lastly, I’m proud to showcase another incredible piece from my mom’s vintage designer collection. This Christian Dior envelope clutch is a prized possession. Since receiving it almost 30 years ago, she has taken the best care of it and it is in mint condition. Even though she happily passed it down to me a few years ago, I make a point to keep it that way and only bust it out for really special occasions (twice a year, max).

Note: I’m thrilled with how these photos turned out as it was our first shoot using my new Nikon D750. It’s a fast, high-performance camera that is totally worth the investment, especially if you’re looking for an upgrade (I upgraded from the D90). I like to set up the shots for whoever is hitting the shutter button for me in manual mode but let autofocus do its work so all he has to do is shoot. I was glad that he also noticed the speed of the AF right away. I use my favourite lens, the 50mm f/1.4D AF-D, for all my photos and the D750 really brings the best out of Fiddy (yes, I named my lens).
