♫ ‘Cause it’s too cold for you here and now
So let me hold both your hands in the holes of my sweater ♫
Two years later, Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood still holds up as a great autumn song, even with all the California imagery. But since Taylor Phelan’s blind audition on The Voice, I’ve been spinning the studio recording of his unique take on the song nonstop (it’s just so robust and heavy) and thus the inspiration for this outfit.
There’s something about wearing your favourite sweater on a cool day. The Sigail Knit from Brandy Melville has quickly become mine. Even with its soft texture and light weight it feels so cozy, warm, and comfortable. I came across this Joe Fresh statement necklace by accident while grocery shopping (isn’t that how we all come across our precious Joe Fresh finds?). But the Steve Madden Neovista booties were something I hunted down. I saw them and fell in love with them. The taupe, the heel height, the narrow toes, the elegant gold zippers — they had to be mine, and I managed to scoop up the last pair in my size.
It’s safe to say that this sweater, this necklace, and these boots are my three favourite fashion finds so far this fall (if you don’t count those wide-brim fedoras I just can’t stop wearing!). What are yours?
Have a good one! :)
